About Maryum

Hi there! I am a first-year undergraduate psychology student presently pursuing my degree. I now have a strong desire to assist others in improving their mental well-being and perspective on life's blessings. I want you to get as much delight out of studying as I do! I'm excited to start teaching you!

About the lesson

Having studied A level psychology myself and now studying psychology at university, I have found a real passion for the subject that I can use to cater to the needs of my students. We will focus on covering the curriculum comprehensively and I will provide ample exam practice. My students will benefit from a tailored learning experience which will also boost their confidence. My lessons are designed catering to each individual student’s needs but we will almost always make sure to try and do some exam technique practice. For example, the first 40 minutes of the lesson we will go through content and the last 20 try out a few exam questions. Questions for mocks and even real exams can often be repeated, just worded differently or with different applications so I feel the more exam practice we do the better! We will identify areas that the students find difficult and from there we can try and improve. I will always make sure my students feel comfortable with answering my questions even if they are wrong and we can work on their progress together. Students often struggle with evaluation more than any other type of exam question so we will always focus on evaluating each topic we look at! From the topics that AQA psychology gives us an option to choose from, I myself have studied Gender, Schizophrenia and forensic psychology and of course including the mandatory topics such as social influence and biopsych. My online lessons will be created using a PowerPoint format in which it will be easy to understand and process the information. Having said this, our lessons will be interactive with me asking loads of questions and not just reading off the PowerPoint. I am also here to give advice on how to handle exam stress, useful ways to memorise content and how to approach harder exam questions.
