About Bethan
I am a college student currently studying a-level maths, BTEC Criminology and a BTEC in Music Performance. At GCSE, I got a 9 in both English Language and Literature (AQA) which is the equivalent of an A**, an 8 in GCSE Maths (Edexcel) which is the equivalent of an A* and a 9 in GCSE History (Edexcel). In English, I studied Power and Conflict poems, A Christmas Carol, Macbeth and Blood Brothers. For history, I studied Anglo-Saxon and Norman England, Crime and Punishment (including Whitechapel) and Weimar Germany. I’d love to be able to provide support and help for children that may be struggling or hoping to achieve a higher grade in their exams. I aspire to be a high school teacher when I’m older so anyone interested would also be helping me as well as me helping them!

My teaching method is to get back to the basic and find the root of any problem. In Maths, it is always great to slowly develop the level of difficulty within questions to ensure that there is no confusion that can limit someone in further stages of a problem. In English, I like to analyse text in a way that is recognisable for a person. Common terms and phrases are something that I find beneficial as they can be remembered and as a result, easily put within a paper to help support a point. In history, I find it most beneficial to approach an event as a story/time line and slowly develop the event as this makes it more memorable. Things like mind mapping effectively are incredibly useful in history and I’d love to be able to show other people how to mind map effectively.
