About Rachel
I became interested in working with Deaf students my senior year of high school when I was a mentor in the special education classroom. Some students would communicate using some words in sign language and I became curious about the language and the culture.
I started the Interpreter Education Program at Wilson Community College and graduated with my Associate Degree. I passed the EIPA test and have my NCITLB License.
I am a current Educational Interpreter with experience in religious interpreting as well.

Basic ASL to begin and what you need to know to help get you started in Interpreting, or just wanting to go out into the Deaf community! I have worked with many different interpreters as well as being within the Deaf Community outside of interpreting. This would be geared towards beginners who want that extra help with their signing.
