About Dominik
I arrived in England on my own at 18. No family here, no network, and an English that was good enough to get by and not much more.
What I learnt in the years afterwards is that the language was never the difficult part. The difficult part is that nobody hands an outsider the unwritten rules: what you are supposed to ask for, when to ask, and who actually decides. I picked them up the slow and expensive way, through stretches with several jobs at once, lectures after night shifts, and months where the rent was a genuine question rather than a line in a budget.
Along the way I took a Bachelor's in Business Management, finishing with upper second class honours, and then a Master's in Project Management which I completed while working. I founded a Czechoslovak society here from nothing. Then LG hired me as a Product Trainer, and for two years I trained most days across England, in branch offices, at head office and in private venues, in rooms of up to forty people, teaching everyone from front line staff to senior management. That comes to more than four hundred people trained, in a language that was not mine to begin with.
Alongside all of it I have taught over six hundred and thirty hours one to one, and that is the part I care about most. Watching someone careful and quiet begin to speak, get things wrong without flinching, and realise they can do the thing they had been avoiding for years is the reason I coach now rather than train products.

Nobody warns you that the hardest part of moving here is not the language.
You learn the language. You get the degree, or the job, and you work harder than the people around you because you feel you have to. Then you notice that the ones moving ahead are not better at the work. They grew up knowing how this place operates: what you are supposed to ask for, when to ask, and who decides. Nobody hands an outsider those rules, and effort on its own does not substitute for them.
I arrived in England on my own at 18 and learnt them the slow and expensive way. What I do now is give people the shorter version. We work out what you are actually aiming at in this country, turn it into a plan with milestones and dates, and rehearse the conversations you have been avoiding until you can hold them without your voice getting away from you.
Six weeks from now you could be looking at a document with your name at the top, three items already crossed off, and the conversation you have been putting off for a year sitting in your calendar for Thursday morning.
Who do I work with?
Most of the people I work with came here from somewhere else: international students and graduates deciding what comes next, and people in their twenties and thirties building a career in a country that is not theirs, in a second language, without the network everyone around them seems to have inherited. If you grew up here and recognise the same problem, the work is identical and you are just as welcome.
Sessions run online, in English or in Czech, so where you are makes no difference either.
How do the sessions work?
The first session is entirely questions. We get everything out of your head and onto a single page: how your week actually goes, what you say you want, and the thing you keep circling back to without acting on it. Most people tell me afterwards that this session alone was worth it, because it was the first time they had heard the whole picture said out loud in one place.
In the second, we take one goal and turn it into a project, with milestones, real dates, the order things need to happen in, and an honest conversation about what gets dropped to make room. My Master's is in Project Management, and this is where that training does its real work, because you leave with a written plan rather than a good feeling.
The third is about movement. We choose your first three actions and go through the wording, the timing and the preparation for each one, then agree how we will measure whether it is working, so your progress becomes something you can point at instead of something you hope is happening.
What we work on?
Career direction, applications and interviews in the UK market. Speaking up in meetings when English is your second language. Asking for a promotion or a raise in a way that lands here. Settling into a life you did not grow up in. And practical money confidence: budgeting, saving, and knowing where your money goes each month.
Where am I coming from?
Bachelor's in Business Management, upper second class honours, then a Master's in Project Management, which I finished while working. For two years I was a full-time Product Trainer at LG, training most days across England in branch offices, at head office and in private venues, in rooms of up to forty people, teaching everyone from front-line staff to senior management. That comes to more than four hundred people trained, in a language that was not mine to begin with. Alongside it, I have taught over six hundred and thirty hours one-to-one.
