About Rachael
I have a deep love of reading. Books were always a fun and exciting thing for me growing up. I understand that there is an emotional component to learning anything new. My background in Social Emotional Learning Curriculum helps me help students navigate frustration and maintain a high level of self esteem while they learn. Becoming a confident readers opens up so many doors for other kinds of learning.

I have extensive knowledge in the science of learning to read. I first analyze where a student is at and then design lessons to grow their understanding and skill sets. We focus on all aspects of Literacy: Letter Recognition, Phonological Awareness, Book & Print Concepts, and Story Conventions. I put a big emphasis on the growth mindset, we can do hard things and practice makes progress.
