About Maithili
I am a literature student based out of the Bay Area, I personally specialize in analytical research papers and classic poetry. I have taught ELD for two years, and I am still a student of literature and English today. I have been published three times in a literary magazine and my own writing has been showcased in an art gallery. I love to bring humor and personal experiences into writing, that is what gives it the humanity that we all want to read about, but I also value the structure of essay writings and poetry, and I know how important it is to master that balance between the two.

For reading comprehension, we will focus on a variety of texts from older classics to modern literature, taking passages and discerning meaning, theme, symbolism, and other parts of literature that are essential to comprehension. As for essay writing, the first step would be to break down the different types of essays, be able to identify what the prompt is, what style of essay is being asked of you, and the different moving parts of an essay. Essay focuses can be research papers, AP test essays (LEQ's, DBQ's), argumentative essays, expository essays, etc.
