About Lea

From a young age, I always knew I wanted to be a teacher. I didn’t know exactly how it would unfold, but I felt a deep desire to lead, share, and pass on knowledge to others. Born in Congo, raised in Greater Manchester, and now based in London, my journey has been full of challenges, growth, and a lot of joy. Creativity and expression have been at the heart of my life for as long as I can remember. I began singing and playing guitar as a teenager and later attended art school in Greater Manchester, as well as Barking and Dagenham Drama School, where I honed my skills in both music and acting. After a few years of study, I chose to bypass university and dive straight into the real world of music. It was terrifying at first, but looking back, I’m so grateful I followed my instincts. Today, I lead a fantastic band, have toured extensively, and am signed to an independent label. Moving to London was a pivotal moment in my journey — it allowed me to grow beyond the small-town mindset and gain real-world knowledge about the music industry: from working with promoters and labels to navigating contracts and building a network within the vibrant London music scene. Now, I feel ready and excited to teach. I’m passionate about inspiring, challenging, and supporting others on their own creative paths, sharing what I’ve learned from my experiences with authenticity and heart.

About the lesson

When I first started singing, I would belt out songs without using proper breathing techniques — in other words, I was singing incorrectly. It wasn’t until I discovered the power of breathing that everything changed. Learning how to breathe properly not only helped me relax into my natural voice, but it also transformed the way I sang. If you're struggling to sing in tune, manage your breath while singing, or connect with your own voice, I’m here to help. I’ve been singing for 16 years and currently lead a jazz band called Léa Mondo based in London. My lessons are open to everyone — whether you want to sing just for fun or are serious about developing and discovering your voice. Each 45-minute session focuses on breathing exercises to open up the diaphragm and help you relax, allowing your true voice to shine. We’ll also work on easy songs to find where your voice is most comfortable, alongside any songs you personally want to learn. I'm passionate about helping you feel confident, grounded, and excited about your voice.

Perfect! Lea has a clear method that helps anyone at any stage develop their singing skills. We worked together on breathing and recognising pitch with Lea being quick to tailor the session to the needs of the student. I felt very safe and encouraged to sing with her so had a lovely time ️
