About Sidney

I am a BBA graduate from France who had to pass the IELTS exam to enter the prestigious London School of Economics and Political Sciences in the UK.
I believe success in the IELTS exam is more dependent on a set of methodologies that need to be acquired by the applicant to meet examiners' expactations rather than a fluency in English.
I have seen native speakers fail in getting the grades they were after and I have seen non fluent speakers succeed far beyond expectations.
With these methodologies I was able to get an overall grade of 8.0/9.0 and I look forward to teach them to you.

About the lesson

My teaching method is the following:

1) We meet and discuss your needs and objectives and I will assess your level in the different 4 IELTS subjects through a mock exam or past results
2) We go through the writing part first (the most difficult subject of the exam) and I will explain what you can improve and what the examiners expect from you (vocabulary, syntax, key words etc.)
3) Reading comes second where I will challenge you with questions over material from news related articles and challenge your comprehension.
4) Speaking training will be done by conversing with me about different subjects and we will go through what examiners like to hear and the demeanor to have during examination. We will also work on your accent if you have a strong one.
5) We will have the listening session where you will conduct mock examinations using YouTube and questions I will have created in the IELTS style.
6) We will review the material and come back to the subjects you feel uncomfortable with and would like to further train on.

I recommend at least 6 hours of tutoring if it is your first time passing the IELTS exam.
