About Iliana

I have over 2 years of tutoring experience in the LNAT, UCAS Personal Statement and applications for vacation schemes, open days, and training contracts. Many of the students that I supported secured offers at top universities such as Oxbridge, LSE, UCL, KCL and Bristol.

I am a third-year law student at the LSE and as someone who was until very recently in your position, I am passionate about making the process - at every stage of your career into law - more transparent and digestible by demystifying steps that can seem daunting.

About the lesson

I provide tutoring for sixth-form students and law students at university.

1. Personal Statement Prep

Having navigated the process successfully myself (with offers and interview invitations from Oxford, LSE, and UCL) and having tutored students for over two years, I can help students’ personal statements truly stand out. My approach is collaborative and Socratic. We will discuss together the academic topics you are passionate about, pulling on the threads of your reading to find nuances and connecting links worth developing. This method has helped my students secure offers from Oxbridge, LSE, UCL, KCL, and Bristol.

2. LNAT Prep

I use the following strategy to maximise LNAT scores:
-- Section A (Multiple Choice): I teach how to approach the process of elimination, focusing on the critical details that are easy to lose marks on. We will focus on decoding language, by identifying key verb and sentence structure that change a question’s meaning, as well as distinguish between an author’s assumptions, core argument and tone.

-- Section B (The Essay): As a first-class legal writer at university and a Future Trainee Solicitor, I can give solid feedback on what makes a persuasive and logically airtight argument, focusing on building a compelling case under pressure. I also have a large pool of sample LNAT essays to help students make essay plans.

3. Corporate Law Vacation Schemes & Training Contract Applications

As a Future Trainee at a globally top 10 corporate law firm, I have first-hand, up-to-date experience of what graduate recruitment teams are looking for. After applying for ten vacation schemes, I reached the last stage of interviews for six of them and was invited on several panels to speak about my insights on this.

-- Application Review: We will work through your written application against the specific competencies and values firms look for, ensuring you demonstrate commercial awareness, a wide range of skills, and a genuine culture fit for the firm.
-- Interview & Assessment Centre Preparation: My 1:1 Zoom sessions are dedicated to mock interviews and tailored coaching to expand on your motivations and commercial research on both the firm and current legal news.
