About Evelyn

I’m a pastry chef in training, currently studying in London. English wasn’t my native language before I moved to the UK, where I’ve now lived for over six years. Through this experience, I’ve improved my English and understand how challenging learning a new language can be.

I also love travelling around Asia, especially to countries and regions such as China, Taiwan, Thailand, and Singapore. From my travels, I’ve experienced how rewarding it can be to speak the local language and connect with the people who live there.

That’s why I’d love to share my language and culture with people who are eager to learn Mandarin and use it in real-life situations. My goal is to make learning Mandarin enjoyable, practical, and tailored to your needs, so you can feel more confident using the language in everyday life and when travelling.

About the lesson

I love tailoring my lessons to each student’s needs. I always start by understanding your goals and preferences, whether you want to learn Mandarin in depth or focus on the basics. I’ll do my best to be flexible with your schedule and make learning Mandarin an enjoyable and personalised experience!

Evelyn is a patient, friendly, and well-prepared teacher. Her lessons are clear and easy to follow, she explains things in a way that makes sense, and she adjusts to each student’s level. I always leave feeling more confident in my Mandarin. I’d happily recommend her to anyone, whether you’re just starting out or want to improve!

Evelyn is a really friendly and patient person. She is an excellent tutor that goes above and beyond, taught me based on what my goal was (travel purposes), worked out a framework and even shared things about the culture.
I’ve been travelling and feel really confident now I know more, not just the language but also the sense of how the community works. Would highly recommend her!
