About Johanne
I believe that students learn best when they are engaged and enjoying the learning process. I incorporate interactive games and hands-on activities, such as memory games, Bingo, and literacy mazes, to make reading practice fun and meaningful. I also value each student's interests and learning preferences, taking the time to learn what motivates them. Whenever possible, I tailor my lessons around their interests to create personalized, engaging instruction that builds confidence and a love of reading.

My teaching approach is structured, engaging, and tailored to each student's individual needs. I use explicit, direct instruction, model each skill step by step, and actively involve students through guided practice, questioning, and meaningful discussion.
Reading lessons focus on three key areas:

#2 Reading fluency and vocabulary development
#3 Reading comprehension and critical thinking
With more than 20 years of experience in education, I have worked with children from toddler age through third grade. My goal is to help students become confident, successful readers by building strong literacy skills in a positive and supportive learning environment.
