About Harry

Harry, also known by his artist name Typho, is an independent songwriter from Leeds, UK. With a musical journey spanning over seven years, he has cultivated a deep passion for writing and producing music. In addition to helping online students navigate Ableton Live, Harry has found fulfilment in sharing his expertise with others as a piano and guitar teacher in schools. He specialises in teaching complete beginners, ensuring they receive a solid foundation and are empowered to pursue their musical aspirations. In 2015, he earned a BSc (Hons) degree in Music Technology. Following graduation, Harry ventured to Auckland, New Zealand, where he worked as a studio recording engineer, honing his skills in the realm of sound production. During this time he has adeptly utilised various music production and sound editing software, among which he finds Ableton Live to be the most versatile and user-friendly for writing, editing, recording, mixing, and mastering music. It is an excellent tool for beginners to learn. In addition, he has a lot of experience in video editing and creating animations for musicians using Adobe After Effects, which he gained while working as freelancer between 2017 - 2020. If you need to book outside of my available hours, please feel free to get in touch, and I may be able to swap my schedule around.

Harry is very patient and is able to break down complicated processes and concepts into smaller and digestible units of information. He is very comfortable with Ableton and took me from not knowing anything to incremental stages of knowledge. He was able to point out useful features, made sure I was comfortable with layout and understood all the items he was teaching. All without getting too much in the weeds or over loaded with details. He's a great fit for someone who is not comfortable with the DAW and needs guidance. I can't recommend him more.
