About Sean
I am a qualified Aviation English instructor with extensive experience in teaching English to aviation professionals, particularly pilots preparing for ICAO ELPR assessments. My journey into teaching aviation English started with a deep interest in aviation and a passion for language education. After earning my certification in TESOL and specializing in English for Specific Purposes (ESP), I realized the importance of clear communication in the aviation industry, especially when it comes to safety and effective air traffic control.
Having worked with pilots from diverse backgrounds, I understand the unique challenges they face when learning English, especially within the high-stakes environment of aviation. My teaching methodology is built on real-world aviation scenarios, using aviation-specific vocabulary, pronunciation exercises, and role-playing activities to help students build confidence in both routine and emergency communication.
I am driven by the belief that effective communication in aviation is not just about passing exams but ensuring that pilots are able to respond quickly and clearly in any situation. In a typical lesson, we’ll start with a warm-up discussion on an aviation-related topic, followed by core activities like role-playing cockpit scenarios, practicing radio communication, or listening to real-world aviation dialogues. We’ll wrap up with feedback and suggestions for further improvement.
My goal is to create a relaxed and supportive learning environment where you gain the confidence to communicate clearly and accurately in both routine and emergency situations. Each lesson is crafted to help you pass your ICAO test and communicate effectively in your aviation career.
