About Elliot
I am a current Auckland medical student and previous Otago physiology graduate. Although I am new to private tutoring, I have been a demonstrator in HUBS and physiology papers for the past four years. I've provided tutoring in HUBS191/192, CELS191, and 200 and 300 level physiology. I am confident that you will not find many private tutors more knowledgeable in these topics. I am also happy to provide advice and assistance on entry to the Otago and Auckland medical programs, such as the Auckland professional program interviews.

I work with students to take their knowledge and confidence to the next level, and help students reach their full potential. The structure for my sessions largely revolves around what the student has been struggling to understand, and then we can have a conversation to overcome this. As these discussions can be laborious, I like to keep my lessons to around an hour in length. Being experienced in Physiology teaching and having a master's degree means I understand the harder concepts, and am experienced in helping the students to understand them too. For more difficult concepts, I am able to work through the lecture slides and provide notes to help students that benefit from this style of teaching.

Elliot was so helpful in helping me pass an anatomy exam (Otago/first year) that I had no confidence in. Not only could he explain things in ways that were clear and easy to understand/remember he also always made sure to check that I was actually following along with what he was saying and made sure we went at a pace that worked for me.
