About Ammar

I am a PhD Engineer, university professor, researcher, and multidisciplinary design and technology educator with more than 25 years of experience in graphic design, digital imaging, publishing, technical communication, engineering, computer graphics, and professional software applications.

I have taught and supported students, graphic designers, researchers, educators, engineers, business owners, professionals, and career-transition learners. My experience ranges from foundational design principles and software skills to branding systems, editorial layouts, image editing, publication production, information design, and professional portfolio development.

My teaching philosophy is based on a clear principle: effective graphic design must communicate before it decorates.

I explain how hierarchy guides attention, how typography affects readability and tone, how colour influences perception, how grids create order, and how images and graphic elements support the intended message. I also teach students how to diagnose weak composition, inconsistent spacing, poor typography, incorrect colour settings, low-resolution images, and production errors.

My expertise includes:

• Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat, Bridge, Lightroom, and related Creative Cloud applications
• Graphic-design principles, composition, visual hierarchy, grids, typography, and colour
• Branding, logos, visual identity systems, and brand-guideline development
• Posters, flyers, advertisements, social-media graphics, and promotional design
• Books, reports, magazines, brochures, catalogues, portfolios, and editorial layout
• Image correction, retouching, compositing, restoration, and digital-image preparation
• Infographics, diagrams, technical graphics, presentations, and information design
• Print production, colour modes, resolution, bleeds, preflight, packaging, and PDF preparation
• Canva, PowerPoint, Figma, and complementary tools when appropriate

Lessons are personalized to your level, software, project type, and objectives. I can help you learn systematically from the beginning, solve a technical problem, improve an existing design, complete an assignment, develop a brand identity, prepare a publication, or build a professional portfolio.

My goal is to help you become more visually aware, technically accurate, creative, and independent. You should leave each lesson understanding not only how to use the software, but also why the design decisions work and how to apply the same principles to future projects.

B- PERSONALIZED TUTORING: LEARN TO THINK
-------------------------------------------------------
Graphic design becomes much easier when visual principles, typography, colour, imagery, layout, software tools, and communication objectives are connected clearly.

My lessons help you move beyond memorizing software commands or applying decorative effects without purpose. You will learn how to analyze a design brief, organize visual information, select appropriate typefaces and colours, create strong compositions, prepare professional files, and explain the reasoning behind your design decisions.

Each lesson is personalized to your current level, software environment, academic course, portfolio objective, business need, or professional project. We begin by identifying your existing skills, the intended audience, the communication objective, the required format, and the main conceptual or technical difficulties. We then establish a focused and practical learning plan.

The first free lesson combines a discussion of your background, objectives and tutoring needs, an initial assessment of your current knowledge, personalized planning and scheduling, and a short trial lesson so that we can determine the most effective way to work together.

A typical lesson may include explanation of design principles, software demonstration, guided practice, critique of existing work, technical correction, and refinement of the final design.

You may bring your own brief, text, images, logo, publication, poster, assignment, brand concept, or professional file. I can also provide structured exercises adapted to your level.

My objective is not merely to show you where a Photoshop, Illustrator, or InDesign command is located. It is to help you understand how visual decisions communicate meaning so that you can produce clear, attractive, consistent, and technically correct designs independently.

The first free lesson is a structured introductory and trial session. We will briefly introduce ourselves—including your academic or professional background and my relevant expertise—clarify your objectives, deadlines and tutoring needs, and assess your current knowledge through discussion and a short diagnostic activity. We will then establish a focused learning plan and schedule for future lessons. The remaining time will be used for a short trial lesson on a representative concept or problem, allowing you to experience my teaching approach before deciding whether to continue.
