About ChiJui
Musical Background & Education
Began studying piano at the age of five and violin at the age of seven.
At the age of eight, entered a specialized music education program, where I began formal training in viola alongside continued violin studies.
Received comprehensive pre-collegiate music training throughout elementary, middle, and high school at some of the leading specialized music schools in my city, following a rigorous conservatory-style curriculum from a young age.
Received a full scholarship to pursue undergraduate studies at the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music, National University of Singapore.
Pursued graduate studies at the New England Conservatory, receiving a substantial merit-based scholarship.
Currently pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts (DMA) in Viola Performance at Boston University, supported by a full scholarship.
This extensive training from an early age has provided me with a strong foundation in instrumental technique, musicianship, performance, music theory, and structured music education, as well as a deep understanding of the developmental needs of young musicians.
