About Dakota

Years spent transitioning from the concert stage to private studios defined my teaching philosophy. The scent of aged piano keys and floor wax reminds me of long practice sessions in the Australian National Academy of Music. I emphasize technical foundations like sight reading and scales alongside pedaling technique and hand position.

Mastering rhythm and timing requires the same discipline I used during my early conservatory training. I guide students through ABRSM or Trinity grade exam prep while building essential ear training skills.

Over the last 13 years, I have worked with diverse musicians who value precision and clear progress. Having taught many pupils, I find that a focused approach remains the best way to achieve meaningful results. I enjoy seeing students develop a sophisticated artistic voice.

About the lesson

Progress does not come from playing the same mistakes for 8 months. You will notice immediate improvements during our time together by addressing posture and efficiency from the start.

I offer a free trial lesson to map out goals so we define a clear path toward technical mastery. My background at the Australian National Academy of Music informs how I structure every minute of our 13 years of combined experience in high level performance.

We will evaluate your current proficiency and identify specific areas for growth. I integrate ear training and repertoire study into a cohesive workflow that keeps you engaged.
