About Martin
Austrian baritone Martin Elias Buchmann began learning music and singing from childhood in his school choir. He then joined the Saint-Florian boy's choir (St. Florianer Sängerknaben), where he had his first experiences as soloists, notably playing the role of Tamino in the production "Zauberflöte XXS". After attending a music highschool in Linz, he entered a singing class in Vienna and continued at the CNSM in Paris during the year of 2017-2018. He is continuing his studies today at HEMU Lausanne in the class of Frédéric Gindraux. In 2014 he won the second prize in the national competition "Prima la musica". In recent years, Martin Buchmann has been able to perform Papageno in The Magic Flute or Der Mann mit dem Maulesel from Die Kluge by Carl Orff, Capitaine / Zaretski in Eugen Onegin at BFM Geneva as well as solos in sacred and contemporary music projects. In 2017 he played one of the two Policemen in the European creation of "Leonce und Lena" by Erich Zeisl. During his career he played the recorder, the clarinet, the oboe and for 17 years the piano.

In my teaching I try as much as possible to follow the path that the student wants to lead. Before even starting the course we will agree on the purpose of the course and the path to take. In my approach to singing I focus a lot on the body, breathing and their coordination. This means, to start with information about the body, its functionality and also the corresponding exercises. I prefer to act slowly in my teaching - with an adapted repertoire, and exercises that warm up the voice gently. My 17 years of piano lessons allow me afterwards to accompany you, which gives a complete musical experience.
