About Douglas

I am a Master Of Pharmacy (MPharm), Master Of Education (MEd, 2023) and a Full Time Specialist tutor in the Sciences. I have my own professional tuition business which has been operating successfully for the past 5 years. I provide tuition on the National Tutoring Programme for hundreds of schools across the United Kingdom, which provides me with an insight of how schools are approaching the teaching of students each year, and allows me to help students to bridge the gap between their current knowledge, and the exam performance levels that they are striving to achieve. I am a really positive and relaxed tutor, and I adapt my approaches to suit each and every student so that they can achieve the most out of their learning and actually enjoy their sessions!

About the lesson

I have a really relaxed and positive approach towards my tutoring sessions which are moulded around each individual student's learning needs. Each session usually lasts an hour in length, unless students request longer time frames (E.g. 2 hour sessions). I use a variety of techniques to formulate my sessions, such as teaching a particular topic using interactive digital resources, whilst providing multiple real life examples of how topics usually present themselves in the exam papers. I ensure that students know exactly how to approach each individual style of exam question across the entire course syllabus for a subject. I also clearly illustrate to students exactly where their marks are by providing clear and detailed feedback to ensure that they know how to elevate their subject knowledge and translate that directly into exam performance.
