About Athanasios
I am a doctoral candidate in piano performance and pedagogy at the University of Maryland, with a lifelong passion for sharing music. My studies have taken me from Greece to Austria and the USA, where I’ve performed in recitals and chamber music concerts, and recorded works by contemporary and 20th-century Greek composers.
Teaching has been a constant joy, from private lessons to university-level applied and class piano. I enjoy guiding students of all levels to explore technique, musicality, and personal expression at the piano.
Whether you’re a beginner or advanced pianist, I look forward to helping you grow as a musician and deepen your love of music.

I teach piano driven by my deep love for music and a desire to help students discover their own expressive voice. My philosophy goes beyond technique and repertoire to include musical understanding through analysis, theory, and attentive listening.
I tailor lessons to each student’s interests, pace, and learning style, providing consistent support to help you grow confidently. I create a friendly and open environment, using informal communication that encourages curiosity and a sense of security—especially helpful for children.
While I enjoy collaboratively setting goals from the very first lesson, I also embrace a relaxed approach that emphasizes the joy of making music. My aim is to foster self-directed development, confidence, and, above all, a lasting love of piano.
