About Amrit
I am a public speaking and communication tutor with extensive training in advocacy, oral presentation and persuasive communication through my legal education and Bar training.
Public speaking has been a major part of my academic and professional journey. I have competed successfully in numerous public speaking competitions and have received particular praise for my use of tone, pacing, dramatic pauses and audience engagement. I have also completed the Bar Course at ICCA, where advocacy and effective oral communication form a central part of professional training. My Bar studies were funded by two highly competitive scholarships.
My experience extends beyond formal advocacy. I have delivered lessons and presentations in schools, ran a Sixth Form Law Society, worked with students across a wide range of ages and regularly help learners develop the confidence to communicate their ideas clearly and persuasively.
Having ADHD myself, alongside traits associated with autism, dyspraxia and dyslexia, I also understand that confident communication does not look the same for everybody. Some people need more time to process their thoughts, struggle with organising ideas while speaking, find eye contact uncomfortable or simply do not respond well to traditional advice about how a “good speaker” should behave.
My approach is therefore highly adaptable. My aim is not to turn everybody into the same type of speaker, but to help each person develop a communication style that feels confident, authentic and effective.

My online public speaking sessions are tailored entirely around the individual and their goals. I work with children, teenagers, university students and adults, from those who feel extremely nervous about speaking to those looking to refine already strong presentation or advocacy skills.
Sessions can focus on areas including public speaking confidence, presentations, interviews, speeches, debating, advocacy, persuasive speaking, vocal delivery, structure, pacing, tone, body language and responding to questions under pressure.
Lessons are highly practical. Rather than simply discussing public speaking techniques, students are given opportunities to actually speak, practise and receive supportive, specific feedback. We may work on structuring a speech, improving the opening of a presentation, practising difficult interview questions, experimenting with pauses and emphasis, or repeating a section several times to see how small changes affect its impact.
For students who struggle to organise their thoughts when speaking, I can also teach simple frameworks for turning ideas into a clear response quickly. For neurodivergent learners in particular, sessions can be adapted around processing time, working memory, confidence, sensory or communication preferences and reducing the pressure associated with traditional public speaking environments.
I mainly offer one-hour online sessions, although longer sessions can also be arranged where appropriate.
Whether you are preparing for a presentation, interview, competition, university, professional advocacy or simply want to feel more comfortable speaking in front of others, the aim is the same: to help you find your voice and learn how to use it effectively.
