I spend time planning your curriculum based on your current technical level and long-term musical aspirations. To be honest, I rarely start a student on a rigid path without checking their current baseline first. You will undergo a diagnostic skills check before we start building the custom lesson plan for your goals.
This process allows me to see exactly where your technique needs refinement. Intermediate learners and grade exam candidates benefit from this structured evaluation. I focus on electric technique and maintenance to ensure you feel prepared.
My 13 years of experience informs how I select songs that match your pace. Everything we do serves your musical development. You will play with more confidence after our first few sessions.

Degrees in music education can sometimes feel disconnected from the raw reality of strumming a guitar for the first time. I hold a Master of Arts in Music Education from McGill and a TESOL certification which allows me to blend linguistic rhythm with musical phrasing. My path led me to support teens and hobbyists in Toronto and Vancouver by connecting their voices to their instruments. With 13 years of experience in the industry, I have coached 255 students through complex acoustic techniques and improvisation.
It is rare to find a coach who treats music theory and language acquisition as two sides of the same coin. I enjoy the process of watching students learn to maintain their gear while developing their own unique sound. Watching a student transition from basic strumming patterns to soloing is truly satisfying.
