About Helena

I am a pianist and vocalist from Gdańsk. I am currently continuing my musical education with a Master's degree in piano at the Academy of Music in Gdańsk, in the class of Dr. Piotr Słopecki. I graduated with distinction from the Secondary School of Music in Gdynia, obtaining diplomas in two specialties: instrumental studies (in the piano class of Alicja Pałka, MA) and vocal studies (in the class of Maria Borowska-Różalska, MA). I have won and participated in numerous national and international competitions and festivals. I regularly perform as a soloist and chamber musician in academic and public concerts. My goal and life's passion is comprehensive musical development. I believe that my dual education – instrumental and vocal – allows me to approach music education unconventionally. I am passionate about teaching piano at all levels. I am patient, understanding, and empathetic. I invite you to my classes!

About the lesson

I tailor my classes to the student's needs and satisfaction. For example, for beginners: - Familiarization with the keyboard - Hand position and posture - Learning musical notation - Scales and arpeggios - Reading music - Basic playing by ear - Illustrative pieces, film music, easy arrangements of well-known pieces from the classical piano repertoire - Four-hand pieces (with a teacher) - Group practice. For more advanced students: - Selection of pieces tailored to skill level - Various musical styles - Sight-reading practice - Practicing challenging passages in class and practicing at home - Preparation for entrance/semester exams at music schools. I have a large collection of sheet music for all skill levels - from film music, games, and children's music to advanced classical repertoire. I teach on a Sauter piano. This model features an imitation double repetition, so it resembles the mechanics of a grand piano more than a standard upright piano. For the youngest (up to 9 years old) I recommend 30-minute lessons, and for older students and adults 45- and 60-minute lessons.
