About Sydney

I’m a recent graduate of New York University, where I earned a degree in Psychology with a minor in Child & Adolescent Mental Health Studies. I am continuing my education at Teachers College, Columbia University as a Master’s student in the Counseling Psychology program. My academic background has given me a strong foundation in psychological theory, human development, and evidence-based learning strategies, which I bring into every tutoring session.

Beyond academics, I have a genuine passion for working with children and adolescents and supporting their emotional and academic growth. I am especially interested in helping students build confidence, develop effective study habits, and manage stress and academic pressure. I believe learning is most effective when students feel supported, understood, and encouraged to ask questions without fear of judgment.

I also bring a coaching-oriented mindset to my tutoring. With years of experience in leadership and coaching environments, I focus on breaking down material into clear, manageable steps and adapting my approach to each student’s unique learning style. My goal is not only to help students understand the material, but to empower them with skills they can carry forward independently.

About the lesson

I have a strong passion for helping students build confidence in their academic journey. My background in psychology equips me to not only explain complex concepts in an accessible way but also to understand different learning styles and tailor my approach to each student's needs.
I have experience mentoring and supporting peers through academic projects, group work, and research assignments, which has strengthened my ability to guide students in critical thinking, test preparation, and essay writing. My approach is patient, interactive, and encouraging. I aim to create a positive learning environment where students feel supported and motivated to reach their goals.
