About Tawanda

I am a dedicated saxophonist with over 15 years of experience, born and raised in Zimbabwe. My unique playing style blends influences from RnB, Afro Jazz, and Soul music. I am passionate about teaching and eager to share my skills with students of all levels, helping them develop their own distinctive sound and style. With my diverse musical background, I bring a fresh perspective to saxophone lessons, ensuring each student receives a personalised and professional learning experience.

About the lesson

As a passionate saxophonist with over 12 years of experience, my teaching method is built on a strong foundation of technique, creativity, and personal expression. I believe every student has their own unique voice, and I strive to help them discover and develop their own style. I start with the basics for beginners, focusing on essential skills such as proper breathing techniques, articulation, and tone production. We also work on building an understanding of music theory and literacy, which is crucial for improvisation and musical expression. Once students master the fundamentals, I guide them through more advanced topics like phrasing, dynamic control, and improvisation to help them develop their own unique sound. Each lesson lasts for one hour, allowing ample time for hands-on practice, discussion, and feedback. My lessons are suitable for all levels, whether you're just starting out or looking to refine your skills. I welcome students of all ages, from young beginners to adult learners who want to expand their musical horizons. I hold a certificate in music literacy, which allows me to offer a well-rounded and comprehensive approach to teaching. Whether you're working on classical pieces, jazz improvisation, or creating your own music, my goal is to help you become a confident and expressive saxophonist.
