About Madeline
Originally from Qathet, Canada, I make a living as a musician, composer and educator. A fierce advocate for contemporary music, I maintain an active freelance career collaborating with composers and musicians throughout North America on a variety of projects ranging from giving world premieres of solo works, to group improvisations involving the use of electronics and mixed media. She is the newest member of Semiosis Quartet, a string quartet dedicated to championing new music, and is co-founder of Noise Catalogue, a newly-formed arts collective based in NY.

As a teacher, I am dedicated to giving my students high-quality, engaging, and well-rounded musical training, with an ultimate goal of instilling a passion and curiosity for music which they can carry with them throughout their lives.
My experience includes teaching private violin and piano lessons to students of all ages and levels, and beginner music theory lessons, throughout Canada and the US over the past 13 years. I have a Master of Music degree from Manhattan School of Music, and Bachelor of Music from San Francisco Conservatory of Music, where I received teacher training from renowned musical pedagogues.
I create personalized lesson plans, tailored to each students' age, experience, learning style and goals. I follow Royal Conservatory of Music curriculum guidelines, with folk music, jazz, blues, and other genres mixed in to help provide the most well-rounded musical experience possible. I prioritize encouraging each student to develop their unique musical voice.
