About Rebecca

I am enthusiastic about assisting students to develop, progress and reach their full potential! There are no 'silly' questions and I welcome students that wish to learn more about the world of social work and all it can offer in their career!

About the lesson

I qualified as a Social Worker at Masters Level in 2015 and due to complete my Practice Educator award. I am actively part of a specialist child and adolescent mental health setting working with parents and young children at times of intense crisis and in need of acute intervention for a variety of psycho-social and complex contributing factors. This requires specialist assessment and report writing in addition to identifying and providing therapeutic interventions underpinned by Cognitive Behaviour Therapy to challenge and change patterns that have emerged internally and externally. I have experience of working in a range of fields including: child protection - front line practice court work - from Magistrates to High Court Children looked after as Senior Supervising Social Worker and Therapeutic Lead CAMHS I am an ABE trained social worker and have also completed Level 7 Cognitive Behaviour Therapy training and deliver this within my current role to professionals to develop their knowledge in mental health and how to support children experiencing these difficulties. I have real-life practice experiences with an extensive knowledge of attachment, adverse childhood experiences and trauma. My experience within a mental health setting and the experience of providing therapeutic interventions also gives me the skills to support students who may require additional support in their own learning, development and performance.
