About Shamaine
Hi, I’m Shamaine! I hold a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology and a Bachelor of Science in Family and Consumer Sciences.
I believe academic support should respect both your intelligence and your learning needs. My style is collaborative, encouraging and practical. I won’t assume that struggling with organization means you don’t care, and we won’t measure your progress against someone else’s ideal routine.

Knowing what you need to do isn’t always the same as being able to start. If assignments pile up, study plans never seem to stick, or every task feels equally urgent, we can build a more workable approach together.
I offer academic coaching for university and graduate students who want practical, flexible support with the process of studying—not just the subject material.
We can work on:
Breaking large assignments into clear, manageable steps.
Prioritizing competing deadlines.
Creating realistic weekly study plans.
Finding study strategies that fit the material and your learning needs.
Building simple systems for notes, readings and assignments.
Getting started through guided work periods and body doubling.
Developing accountability without shame or unrealistic expectations.
Adjusting your plan when your time or capacity changes.
Bring your syllabus, deadlines, to-do list or the assignment you’ve been avoiding. We’ll choose a priority, define a realistic next step and build a plan you can actually use. When helpful, we can spend part of the session working alongside one another so you leave having made a start.
My approach is ADHD-friendly and adaptable. This is educational coaching, not ADHD assessment, treatment or therapy.
