About Paul

I've been a physics student for 2 years and been learning to draw from a professional artist for the last 4 years, with a focus on the human body. Now I want to share my knowledge with others and hope that you have as much fun learning as I do.

About the lesson

my goal is to give pupils the ability to draw dynamic,lifelike poses, to be able to show three dimensionality in their artwork and be able to draw from imagination.
to this end we will cover skills regarding:
-) light and shadow
-) gesture drawing
-) negative spaces
-) imagination
-) nude/live drawing

depending on the pupils' goals. further there is a course on the anatomy and function of the human body starting from the bones and working through the muscles.

the course will be adapted depending on the level of the pupil (or pupils).

for beginners we will start with gesture drawing, three dimensional imagination and the correct usage of references.

portrait drawing as a separate course starts with the relationship of light and shadow before moving through drawing the head from any angle (loomis method) to the facial features (nose, mouth, eyes, ears, hair).

for more advanced students there's a course on the individual bones of the human skeleton (as well as the joints' motion) which is followed up by a detailed course on the muscle groups and their functions.

If the courses are in person and with groups there will be occasional live drawing classes to check progress.
