About Augustin

Hi! My name is Augustin. I'm originally from Lyon, France, and I'm currently living in Canada, where I'm in my third year of PhD in Biology at the University of Ottawa.

I graduated at the top of my class with a Master's degree in Ecology, Evolution and Genomics, and I'm hoping to pursue a career as a professor and researcher in evolutionary biology. I'm genuinely passionate about biology, evolution, biodiversity, and science in general, and I've always loved sharing that passion with others.

I've been tutoring mathematics and biology privately for over four years now, working with students at different levels and adapting my teaching to their needs. I particularly enjoy making difficult concepts easier to understand and helping students gain confidence in subjects they initially find intimidating.

I also have extensive experience with applied statistics and scientific data analysis through my academic and research work, and I'm happy to help with these subjects as well.

I teach in both English and French, and I'm available for online lessons mostly, but we can discuss for in-person lessons in Ottawa.

About the lesson

Hi! I'm Augustin, a third-year PhD candidate in Evolutionary Biology with four years of experience as a private tutor.

I offer personalized tutoring in mathematics, biology, and applied statistics, for both high school and university students.

My goal isn't simply to give you the answer. I want to help you understand the reasoning behind the problem so that you can eventually solve similar problems on your own. I adapt the pace and level of each lesson to your needs, whether you're struggling with a specific concept, preparing for an exam, or looking for regular support throughout a course.

I can help with:

• Biology, life science, evolution, ecology
• Applied statistics and data interpretation
• Exam and assignment preparation
• Understanding difficult concepts and course material

As a Biology PhD student, I can also help connect statistical and mathematical concepts to real scientific examples, which can make abstract material much easier to understand.

Lessons are available in English or French, online preferably (possibility of in person in Ottawa to discuss).
