About Ivan

As a lifelong learner and tutor, I've always been passionate about helping others understand what once felt impossible. I started by helping friends, and then I became a teaching assistant for underclassmen in high school. Since then, I’ve focused that passion into one clear mission: disproving the myth that you need to be “naturally smart or talented” to succeed. Whoever you are reading this, I hope you take away one thing. You can learn anything you set your mind to, sometimes you just need the right support.

About the lesson

What's the biggest reason some students struggle in the classroom and others excel? It's not as simple as work ethic, and it's definitely not just natural intelligence. As a graduate of one of the most challenging fields, and as a tutor who has raised my students’ letter grades, the real difference maker is this: someone who can meet them exactly where they are and patiently make the hardest subject feel intuitive.

Teachers have the impossible task of getting everybody up to speed at the same time with often just one style. But students learn differently. For those who feel left behind, or even those who are ahead and want more, I tailor my lessons to how you think and visualize. Whether it's primary school arithmetic or college thermodynamics, I'll help you connect the dots and master what once felt confusing.

Perfect! Absolutely amazing! We met Ivan in person to see how things went and my son immediately felt at ease with him. We did the rest of our sessions virtually, and Ivan was always such a joy for my son to work with, breaking down problems in step by step simple terms. As a parent coordinating these sessions , Ivan was super communicative and easygoing, professional and supportive. I can’t recommend him enough!

Perfect! Ivan has been working with my son for the last year. My son is a freshman doing algebra and has special needs. Algebra is not my son‘s favorite subject and is the one that he struggles most with. Ivan is extra patient with him, takes his time to ensure that my son understands each step before moving forward and really does try to instill the basic groundwork for each problem.
