About Gretel
My name is Gretel, I am from Boston, and I am the youngest graduate of the University of Vermont, earning my Bachelor in Mathematics from the College of Engineering at 19. I also have a minor in psychology, with a focus on developmental psychology.
I was never pushed towards academic achievement by my parents; I always had an internal drive to study. During the COVID lockdowns, I began taking college classes early and finished high school early.
I moved to Melbourne and I am currently on a work and holiday visa, but plan to pursue graduate studies at the University of Melbourne soon.
I believe that mathematics is the most important subject in education that one can possess. It obviously provides many skills for careers in technology, education, and research. More importantly, it is the language of the universe. It provides your brain with a system to map out everything, from communication to decision-making.

My methodology takes a unique approach, relating subjects of interest to the concepts of mathematics. This allows students to find purpose in the subject and become eager to learn more.
I have over 3 years of tutoring experience, as well as experience as a summer STEM instructor at a science camp.
I work well with ages 10-17, filling in gaps they may have missed in their mathematics education and preparing them for higher-level education.
