About Michelle

I have been tutoring for 10+ years in Math (i.e., Algebra, Geometry, Precalculus, Calculus, Prealgebra, Trigonometry, SAT Math, ACT Math, etc.) and Science (i.e., Anatomy and Physiology, Chemistry, Elementary Science, Exercise Science, etc.). My background includes a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science with emphasis on Sports Performance and Health and Human Performance, as well as a Master of Science in Strength and Conditioning Studies. As a former competitive tennis player who was constantly traveling for tournaments, I had to teach myself a lot of the material as I was always on the road. This made me develop methods and techniques to remember and apply these Math concepts during my educational years efficiently. Whenever I returned to school, my peers would always ask me to teach them these Math and Science concepts because they found that the method I developed was more effective than the teachers in school. From there, I have been helping students with gaining confidence and mastery over these Math concepts until this very day.

About the lesson

I teach and tutor based on your needs and your capabilities. We would go over the topic that you're currently learning in school or the topic that you feel you want to learn or need to have the most help in. I check with you throughout the session to see if you understand the material and are comfortable moving forward with the next step. The lessons are for anybody who wants to understand better about the topic or wants to learn about it.

Perfect! Michelle is supportive and an attentive math tutor. What I like most is she doesn’t “rescue” my daughter but has her work the problem in math and then reviews the solution and any errors.

I am thrilled to write this review for Michelle Khoo, a truly exceptional math tutor. From my daughter's first session, it was clear that Michelle's deep understanding of math concepts, combined with her exceptional teaching skills and engaging personality, set her apart. Michelle has the ability to break down complex ideas into understandable explanations that resonate with my daughter.

What I appreciate most about Michelle's approach is her keen insight into my daughter's strengths and weaknesses. She tailors each tutoring session to reinforce areas of proficiency and address areas needing improvement. Michelle doesn't just teach math – she fosters confidence in my daughter's problem-solving abilities. My daughter now looks forward to her tutoring sessions and has made significant strides in her math skills since starting with Michelle.

Michelle's patience and support create a safe, comfortable learning environment. My daughter feels free to ask questions and make mistakes without fear of judgement, knowing Michelle is dedicated to her success. I highly recommend Michelle's tutoring services to any student in need of mathematical guidance.
