About Bruce
Currently I teach high school math and have taught university classes in recent years. In addition to the normal subjects, I enjoy teaching Discrete Math, Abstract Algebra, proof writing, general problem solving, critical and analytical thinking, and logical and rational reasoning. Many of my students are undergraduates, graduates and working professionals.
One of my aims as a teacher of young students is to introduce them to the true nature and power of mathematics earlier than is the current norm. I believe that mathematics is an ideal environment to learn critical thinking and rational reasoning processes that can then be applied elsewhere. One of my goals as a mathematician is to find applications for mathematics that currently does not have one.
The power of a good mathematician is that they can process, assimilate, summarize and then apply complex thoughts, ideas and processes while formulating them in concise statements that bring clarity and perception where little to none existed before.

I try to make the mathematics relevant by giving understandable examples and situations where it comes up, in the area of interest, from my personal experience and knowledge. I explain the concepts according to the level and desire of the student.

If I am to design the lessons and create/find the materials and problems the fee may be higher depending on the subject.
