About Everett
My passion for mathematics started during my Bachelor’s in Mathematics and deepened with a Master’s in Pure Mathematics, where I explored abstract reasoning, proofs, and advanced problem-solving strategies. Over 7 years of teaching, I have guided students at multiple levels, transforming anxiety about math into confidence, curiosity, and structured thinking. I focus on clarity, patient guidance, and practical examples, helping learners grasp both fundamental and advanced concepts while building long-term confidence.
I structure lessons to combine explanation, demonstration, practice, and reflection, enabling students to understand concepts thoroughly. Beginners are introduced to ideas slowly, while intermediate and advanced learners are challenged to explore reasoning, derivations, and real-world applications. I encourage active engagement, questioning, and experimentation, ensuring learning is interactive, meaningful, and intellectually stimulating. My teaching aims not just at passing exams but at fostering analytical thinking and a genuine love for mathematics.
Outside the classroom, I engage with research, puzzles, and problem-solving projects, which help me bring fresh perspectives and examples into lessons. Witnessing students transition from hesitation to confidence, and from reliance on rote learning to independent reasoning, is incredibly fulfilling. Watching learners enjoy tackling challenging problems, develop resilience, and build critical thinking motivates me to continually refine my teaching methods. My goal is to inspire not only competence but also a lifelong curiosity and appreciation for the elegance of mathematics.
