About Juliet
Hello there. I'm a student at the University of Exeter studying Maths with Finance. At Exeter I'm a member of the University hockey team, the Business and Finance Society and the Maths Society. I'm excited about Maths because it is very logical and can be applied to so many things in the world, from building rockets to splitting the bill with your friends!
I asked for extra help constantly during my school time and this really boosted my A level and GCSE grades. In my experience with Maths especially, regular help is the way forward if you want to boost your grades up and really understand the concepts.

I will create a structured programme for my students, tailoring my approach to their learning style. I will use the classic 'scale of 1 to 10' method to gage the student's confidence with the subject and specific topics regularly. I will focus on how to think and how to approach a question instead of what steps to take next. At the beginning, I will ask the student to explain to me a time when they really understood something and remembered it. This will allow me to understand how they learn best and what methods to use.
During sessions, we will start by talking through the questions from the session before and addressing and problems the student met. I will then introduce the topic we will be covering during the lesson. I will use a number of techniques, from mind-mapping to rhymes and songs. At the end of each session I will check in with the student to see how they feel about the topic again, using the scale of 1 - 10. I will then assign the student a short list of questions to go away and attempt before the next session.
