About Emily
At our first meeting, we will converse about you -- the student and the person. What are your hobbies, free-time activities, academic concerns? I'll share mine. We will establish respect, mutual interest, rapport, and guidelines for working together. Accepting a tutor, a new person into your home and life, requires your courage, trust, and self-confidence. I promise to make it fun and motivate you to take it seriously and perform your best. The recipe for success in tutoring is adding some sugar: a sprinkle of polite, cheerful, and a smile. Over 15 years, I have tutored thousands of students in grades K through college, helping them progress to attain their academic goals through one-on-one customized lessons at home or a public library, weekdays or weekends.
