About Simo
Hello, I’m Simo from Cape Town, South Africa. I am an MBA-qualified professional and certified Level 5 TEFL tutor with more than 18 years of experience in human resources, workplace training and professional communication.
Throughout my career, I have supported employees and managers in developing clearer communication, preparing for interviews, participating confidently in meetings and presenting ideas effectively. Since 2017, I have also worked as an Honours research supervisor and academic marker, helping adult learners strengthen their academic writing, critical thinking and research communication.
I enjoy teaching because effective communication can open professional, academic and personal opportunities. My goal is to provide a patient, supportive and professional learning environment where adult learners can practise English confidently and make measurable progress towards their individual goals.

My lessons are designed for adult and professional learners who want to use English confidently in real workplace and academic situations. I teach in English and adapt each lesson to the learner’s current level, profession and communication goals.
A typical lesson begins with a clear objective and includes realistic scenarios, guided practice and constructive feedback. Depending on your needs, we may practise job interviews, meetings, presentations, professional emails, workplace vocabulary, pronunciation or academic writing.
My approach is practical, patient and learner-centred. I use role-plays, targeted language exercises and authentic professional examples to help you apply what you learn immediately. Lessons are particularly suitable for intermediate and advanced learners seeking Business English, workplace communication, interview preparation or academic English support.
