About Emily
I have been working in mammalian research since 2019 and served as a multi-subject teaching assistant for 3 years. Presently, I conduct genetic testing, care for mouse and rabbit colonies, make chemical reagents, grow cell conies, and run diagnostic staining tests.
I have a particular love for macro biology, and human physiology, investigating how living creatures are so incredibly cool :)

As a tutor, my goal is to help students understand concepts they are having trouble grasping, rather than simply giving them an answer at the start. Because student success can often be critically impacted by poorly motivated primary educators. I seek to fill in the gaps due to either poor instruction, or discontinuity in learning style.
A typical lesson begins with any questions the student has with the material they have already gone over before moving on to any present material / homework / assignments the students need assistance understanding.
As a research assistant and college graduate, I am uniquely qualified to help students understand topics using a relevant real world-perspective and multi-faceted approach.
I work best with students at a high school level or higher, but excel at explaining complex topics at all ages. Preferred subjects include General Biology, Anatomy, Physiology, and Microbiology.
