About Annie

I am a friendly and chatty individual and I hope to make everyone feel at ease when tutoring. I enjoy music, reading, photography and exploring new cafes in my free time so if that sounds like your interests I would be very happy to talk about it too! My lessons can be tailored towards all ages and background depending on student needs. I am also happy to speak with people about medical school and admissions.

About the lesson

Sessions are interactive using quizzes to test knowledge, outlining common questions (which is wonderfully done by the structure in which lessons are taught). It is great to create mind maps using foundation knowledge already taught and additional resources such as YouTube videos, online flashcards to add and supplement gaps in knowledge so students can have their own personalised master document for each topic of all the information collated. Then once the understanding is hammered down both inside and outside of the session, practising example questions outside of the lessons for active learning and applying the knowledge learnt. I hope that the sessions I teach allow students to be more confident and identify areas of weakness to boost grades, and by engaging in active learning and interaction they can be well on their way to do that. My general structure to tutoring sessions is an introduction to the topic, perhaps recapping relevant knowledge, the majority of the session working through worksheets or exam questions and then concluding by checking in on progress and understanding. An average length of a lesson is 1 hour.
