About Francesco
I am a passionate and experienced maths tutor; eager to help others along their maths journey.
I have been giving maths lessons since October 2020 and I have coached for mathematical entrance examinations for places at top independent schools.
I have a strong history of working with children. I worked as a tennis coach for five years and volunteered with schools and charities supporting children with physical and mental disabilities.

I firmly believe that with encouragement, guidance and support, every pupil can fulfil their potential.
I aim to empower each student so they become confident, efficient and critical mathematicians and, most importantly, to help every pupil enjoy maths.
Prior learning is recapped at the start of each session to ensure long term consolidation of material.
Aims are also set at the start of each session, which will guide the structure of the session. Questions will be selected specifically to help each pupil achieve these aims.
I begin with worked examples to help the pupil understand the underlying mathematical concepts, which is followed by practice/exam questions for the pupil to work through independently.
I encourage pupils to ask questions and I think it is important to create a relaxed, friendly environment where pupils are encouraged to learn from their mistakes.
I try to make the sessions engaging at all times and I use effective questioning strategies to ensure each pupil has a thorough understanding of the topic.
I believe it is vital to get to know each pupil very well. This enables me to identify their strengths and weaknesses and therefore to personalise the learning experience for each pupil.
