About Melissa
As mentioned before my name is Melissa, I recently graduated Reddam House Durbanville in 2022 and am Cape Town based.
I have been studying within the Cambridge curriculum since primary school, and my highest grades have consistently been English as well as French and History.
In my IGCSE Level exam series of 2021 I received 92% in English Literature and 83% in First Language English, and in my final year for my AS & A Level exam series of 2022 I received 80% in English Language and Literature.
I take my responsibilities very seriously, and have cultivated good leadership skills being part of the Senior Executive Counsel as the Chairperson of the Culture Portfolio in Grade 12.
I aim to provide each student with the assistance they require to the best of my capabilities.

My methodology includes active recall for English literature as it allows better use of evidence/ quotes in essay response.
As well as notes for specific concepts and examples of my past work for better understanding.
I am bilingual, fluent in English and Portuguese which does improve my comprehension and strengthen the help I can provide fro my students.
My focus is to assess points where the student struggles in and actively practice that skill based on the work they receive from their respective schools to allow them to excel according to their syllabus.
My lessons are aimed at grade 7 to grade 12 and applying abstract skills common in high school level English.
