About Rebecca

Who I Am and Why I Teach

I’m Rebecca, a friendly and supportive online tutor specialising in Health & Social Care, Mental Health, and related subjects. I’ve worked with both college learners and university students, helping them feel more confident, organised, and capable in their studies. My background in the NHS and social care gives me real-world insight into the sector, allowing me to explain complex ideas clearly and link theory to practice in a meaningful way.

I choose to teach because I genuinely care about helping students feel less overwhelmed and more empowered. I know how challenging assignments, deadlines, and unfamiliar concepts can feel, and I want learners to have a calm, safe space where they can ask questions, explore ideas, and build confidence without judgement. My approach is supportive, patient, and jargon-free, focusing on breaking tasks into manageable steps and helping students find clarity in their work.

Teaching allows me to combine my academic knowledge, practical experience, and passion for supporting others. Seeing students grow in confidence, understand difficult topics, and feel proud of their progress is exactly why I do this. About the lesson

My Approach to Tutoring

I take a calm, supportive and jargon-free approach that helps learners feel more confident, organised and capable in their studies. I break down complex topics into clear, manageable steps and use real-world insight from my NHS and social care experience to make ideas easier to understand. My sessions create a safe, encouraging space where students feel comfortable asking questions and exploring topics at their own pace.

My Techniques and Teaching Methodology

My methodology is student-led and collaborative. Rather than teaching in a traditional classroom style, I guide learners through their work by helping them identify what they already understand, where they feel stuck, and what they want to achieve. I support students to develop their own ideas, plan assignments, strengthen academic skills, and build confidence in their decision-making. Sessions focus on discussion, reflection, breaking tasks into manageable steps, and empowering students to take ownership of their learning.

Typical Length of My Sessions

Most sessions last one hour, giving enough time to explore topics in depth while keeping learning focused and manageable.

My Qualifications and Experience

I hold a First-Class BSc (Hons) in Mental Health & Wellbeing, a PCET teaching qualification, and have taught in Further Education. I also have extensive experience working within NHS and social care settings, which allows me to link theory to practice in a meaningful and accessible way.

My lessons are ideal for Level 2 and Level 3 learners, college students, and university students studying Health & Social Care, Mental Health, Wellbeing or related subjects. They are especially suited to learners who feel overwhelmed, need clearer explanations, or want to build confidence and independence in their academic work.
