About Hayley

I am an experienced Modern Languages and CELTA-qualified EFL Teacher with a degree in Spanish and Portuguese from Queen Mary University of London. I have over 10 years teaching experience and I am available to teach the following subjects: -English as a Foreign language (all levels) -Spanish/ Portuguese/ Italian (for general study, conversation, GCSE or AS/A level) -Arabic for beginners -Accent coaching (RP/ British English) During my professional career, I have gained extensive experience in teaching English as a Foreign language in several countries including the UK, Spain, Italy and Bahrain in addition to preparing students for their Spanish, Italian and Portuguese GCSEs and/or A Levels and for general conversation. In addition to this, I hold experience managing the EFL and EAL departments in two different schools, as well as experience teaching online to students from all over the world. I have taught people of all age-groups, levels and abilities including EAL and SEN students. Why learn with Hayley? As a largely self-taught multi-linguist, not only am I able to understand things from my students' perspective, I have tried all the tricks in the book to know exactly what is required for fast and effective learning. I value student individuality so I always work at a pace that my students are comfortable with, and my lessons are always tailored to the student’s individual learning needs. I also keep myself updated with the curriculum, latest materials and learning/teaching techniques as well as implementing my own proven successful methods. On a personal level, I am very easy-going, patient and friendly which enables me to gain good student rapport yet I am professional and well-organised. I enjoy sharing my knowledge with others and find my students’ progress extremely rewarding. Availability: Weekdays and occasionally weekends (please ask if you require a specific day/time). About the lesson

I always adapt the lesson to the needs of the student whether it be developing spoken fluency, improving pronunciation or writing skills. My main method of teaching is a combination of both Communicative Language Teaching (CLT) and Task Based Language Learning (TBL). In a typical lesson, we will converse about a range of topics of your choice (or that are suited to your needs or goals) and we will aim to communicate only in the target language to carry out communicative tasks in order to help you develop your fluency naturally. Vocabulary and grammar are learnt in the moment (so only when necessary to help you construct the sentences you need to express yourself). For those who would like to improve their pronunciation or accent in English, there will be extra emphasis on this in the lesson, and I have my own special method to help you soften your accent to help you sound more native-like.
