About Jenul

I am a med student who grew up in regional Victoria and is currently in residence at Monash Uni studying undergraduate Medicine. I graduated from Ballarat and Clarendon College in 2022 as School Captain after an amazing year full of amazing experiences and a 99.85 ATAR. Long term, my goal is to pursue psychiatry, although I understand that life is full of big changes and I'm honestly just glad to be here and see how it goes.

I also took a gap year in 2023, half of which I spent in the Royal Australian Air Force, and the other half of which I spent training for and taking suicide and crisis counselling at Lifeline Australia's 13 11 14 number, as well as travelling.

I am still passionate about mental health and teaching stress management skills to my students, and still regularly put in my time in at Lifeline where I have extensive counselling experience.

I have lengthy experience teaching during my gap year, in subjects such as the UCAT as well as stressful last minute exam interventions for year 12 subjects, as well as years 9 10 and 11.

About the lesson

Melbourne-based UCAT tutor who understands that academic performance is influenced in huge part by mentality, attitude towards learning and test anxiety.

My focus is both the essential practical knowledge innate to a psychometric test such as the UCAT as well as the impact of its high stakes nature.

Thus, my teaching will cover the basic strategies that I used for the UCAT, if they are helpful, and more importantly we'll find the strategies that you can use to find the approach that works with your unique way of thinking.

My UCAT Scores were 730,800,900,900,667 in VR, DM, QR, AR, SJT respectively for a total of 3330, well above the 99th percentile.

Lesson details:
We'll do a half hour session where we discuss your goals, study habits and delve a bit into your expectations to explore if we are a good fit; there is nothing worse than being stuck with a tutor you don't mesh with, let alone being charged for it.

From there all I need from you is an open mind, blocks of 1-2 hour sessions weekly and a willingness to develop your abilities with independent practice alongside lessons, because at the end of the day it's just you and your nerves in the exam room.

I will happily take your training from the UCAT to fleshing out your motivations and general medical content to help with interviews, all the way until the date of your offer.
