About Thaalinee
I am an overseas student from Singapore, learning Biomedical Science at Monash University. I have been tutoring for the last 4 years in many disciplines, including Tamil, Science and Math.
I have been learning Tamil as an examinable subject since the age of 6. Tamil is also my second language and I would like to spread my knowledge and love for this amazing language.
I also love dancing (Bharathanatyam and modern dance forms) and baking. I enjoy getting to know my students and making sure they are comfortable with my teaching.

I have learnt Tamil from Pre-K to Grade 12 and have taught 3 students ranging from Grade 1 through Grade 11, written and spoken Tamil.
My classes are usually 30 mins to 1.5 hours based on the grade and typically once a week.
I am a Singapore-Cambridge General Certificate of Education Advanced Level holder and am familiar with Elementary School Tamil curriculum and Middle School Tamil. I have also tutored adults with introductory Tamil.
I generally tweak my lessons to ensure I address all your educational needs. My main focus is on ensuring your foundations (i.e. grammar, vocabulary and sentence structure) are clear. For lower grades and people unfamiliar with Tamil, I like to focus more on reading and building on simple vocabulary to help with their speaking and fluency. For higher grades, I would emphasise writing techniques and use literary elements such as Thirukkural and Marubuthodar to enhance their writing.
