About Kiu
Hi! 初めまして, I am Kiu:)
I am a recent graduate from the University of Durham in the UK, majoring in Cultural Anthropology and Japanese Studies. Born and Raised in Hong Kong, I had numerous chances of Japanese cultural immersion. I have experienced living in Tokyo, which gives me the chance to fully embrace the culture and speak Japanese. As a quadra-lingual, who is fluent in Japanese, Cantonese, Mandarin and English, I have a huge passion for language learning. I will be your ideal tutor as I have fallen and gotten back up so many times during my language learning path. I understand your difficulties and how to overcome them. I am extremely passionate towards Japanese and I hope you do too!

I provide lessons from the very beginner level to the intermediate level. I was once a super shy child who struggled with confidence and voicing out my opinions. So. my lesson focus will be on pronunciation and gaining confidence to speak when you just started a new language. I believe that to learn a language well, you need to put fear aside. The fear of making grammatical mistakes, the fear of being laughed at... I have been through it all, and I wanted to use myself as an example, to show my students that making mistakes are normal. Everything is a learning process.
My lessons are fun and interactive. With my help, you will be not only immersed in the Japanese language sector but in the culture. I am friendly as I understand the fear you will have when you just started a language, and I do not want to add more fear to you. My classes will be tailor-made to each student, following their aims, their personalities and their strength and weaknesses. Lesson materials will be provided so please do not worry.
