Before starting regular lessons, I offer a free introductory session so we can get to know each other, discuss your goals, assess your current chess level, and identify which areas—openings, middlegames, or endgames—would benefit most from focused training.
My teaching approach is based on proven learning methods and tools that have also helped me grow as a player, including top-tier chess books, ChessBase, and modern analytical resources.

Each lesson is fully personalized to the student’s goals and learning style. I provide homework and study materials to ensure steady progress between sessions. Over the past few years, many of my students have shown impressive improvement and achieved strong results in official tournaments.

The listed price covers a one-hour, one-on-one session, but I’m happy to adjust the duration or arrange group packages depending on your preferences. I also offer discounted lesson packages. If you purchase 10 lessons in advance, you will receive a reduced rate compared to individual lessons.

  • 1) When did you start practicing? How did this passion find you?

I learned the rules of chess at the age of 4, when my parents first introduced me to how the pieces move. Not long after that, I began playing regularly with my three older brothers, and those games became the foundation of my early improvement, even before I started primary school.

From a very young age, I enjoyed the challenge of finding ideas, solving problems, and outplaying my opponents. Over time, chess became much more than just a hobby for me — it’s a game that develops both the mind and personality, combining strategy, concentration, creativity, and discipline in a unique way.
  • 2) Which artists or works affect you the most?

I never really had one specific chess role model. Rather than admiring players only for their results, I’ve always valued the qualities they represent as people. For me, respect, humility, discipline, and sportsmanship are far more important than chess strength alone.

These are also the values I try to teach my students. I believe learning how to behave well, respect others, and enjoy the learning process is just as important as improving on the board. Strong results come naturally when those foundations are in place.
  • 3) What are the qualities and skills required to succeed in this area?

In my opinion, success in chess requires several important qualities. The most important one is genuine passion for the game, because love for chess is what keeps you motivated through both wins and losses. Hard work, patience, and consistency are equally essential, since improvement takes time and dedication.

Discipline and focus help players stay sharp during games and study sessions, while emotional maturity is important for handling defeats in the right way. Instead of getting discouraged by mistakes, strong players learn from them. And of course, respect and good sportsmanship should always be a part of every chess player’s character.
  • 4) What is the most valuable advice you can give to help someone stay focused on creative projects?

My best advice for staying focused and creative is to enjoy the process itself, not only the final results. When you truly enjoy what you do, concentration and motivation come much more naturally. In chess, I always encourage my students to approach positions with curiosity, search for creative ideas, and think independently instead of relying only on memorization.

Consistency is also very important. Even small daily habits, such as solving puzzles or analyzing a single game, help keep the mind active and creative. Most importantly, mistakes should never be feared — they are often the best source of learning and improvement.
  • 5) How would you describe your passion; how does it make you feel?

For me, chess is far more than just a game — it’s a lifelong passion that constantly motivates and inspires me. Every game offers something new to discover, whether it’s an interesting idea, a difficult challenge, or a creative solution.

Chess has also taught me patience, discipline, and emotional control, because even one small mistake can completely change the outcome of a game. That challenge is exactly what makes chess so rewarding. As a coach, sharing this passion with my students and watching them improve brings me even greater satisfaction and motivation.
  • 6) What creative achievements are you particularly proud of?

I would separate my achievements into two categories.

The first, and definitely the most meaningful to me, is the success of my students. Seeing them improve, reach their goals, and develop a true passion for chess is something I value deeply. For me, helping students grow is the greatest achievement a coach can have.

The second category includes my own competitive accomplishments. Throughout my career, I’ve achieved victories against several European and World Champions, as well as multiple Grandmasters. I’ve also won national championship titles and had the privilege of representing my country at both European and World Championships.
  • 7) Have you ever been surprised by a student; by their ability or quick progression?

My students have surprised me many times — not only with their talent, but also with how quickly they can improve when they are truly motivated. Some of them have gained more than 1000 rating points on chess.com within a single year, which is remarkable progress.

I’ve also had the opportunity to work with students of all ages, from very young children aged 4 or 5 to adults over 65, all sharing the same enthusiasm and curiosity for learning chess. Seeing that passion across different generations is always inspiring.
  • 8) Being a Superprof is an art! What is your secret?

My secret is actually very simple — I truly love what I do. Chess has been a huge part of my life for many years, and teaching gives me the chance to share that passion with others every day.

I genuinely enjoy helping students improve, gain confidence, and discover the beauty and depth of the game. I’m also very grateful to Superprof for giving me the opportunity to connect with students from around the world and continue doing what I love.
