About Lawrence

Music is my passion. My favorite instrument is the piano
I have performed at various events in various locations
Including Washington, D.C. as well as the Biltmore Hotel in downtown Los Angeles. I strongly believe that every child/adult has the ability to play the piano and will become a more well-rounded individual. Studies have shown that students who study music as well as art excel in all academic areas and many of them become more successful adults. I always ask any medical professional I meet what instrument they studied and they usually say the piano or the violin

About the lesson

I have played the piano for many years. I began studying piano at the age of 10. I taught music in the public school system as a
Band teacher, choral teacher, piano instructor as well as guitar
I also taught group piano through the MIND Institute which
Incorporated the teaching of pre-algebra in conjunction with the piano where the students excelled in both areas.

I have served as a piano accompanist for several churches in the Southern California area as well in various public schools
In addition, I took piano pedagogy classes in college as well as
Classes in adult education aka andragogy I have worked with both children and adults and know learning strategies for different ages. I also have a background with children and adults with various disabilities including autism

Teaching is my passion.
