I am a nurturing, supportive teacher. I don't believe in being dictatorial or despotic. Through my own study, I have learned that teachers who were true mentors were the ones that I made the most progress with, and I continue to use their style today.

Each private lesson is designed to make the best musician possible out of each student. In addition to instrumental studies, lessons include technical exercises, ear training, music theory, sight reading, music history, and performance. I have been teaching private lessons since 1977, and have encountered just about every student difficulty there is, and developed the methods to correct and encourage the student.

Jon has been teaching my daughter piano for years. He has been consistent and become a good friend to the family. He does not only teach my daughter how to play the piano but also teaches the music theory behind what she is doing. He has worked with her to write several of her own scores which she has played in various recitals. We have loved and continue to enjoy working with Jon.
